Astronomical Lettering

Astronomical Lettering is a postage set of drop cap stamps and postcards that mixes early 15th century astronomy charts with woodcut textures to create a unique series of letters that are inspired by the typeface Baskerville. The gap of time between Erhard Ratdolt woodcuts and John Baskerville’s refined typeface of old-style typefaces in the earlier period’s of printing, bring a clean look to modern woodcut lettering.
